Biography
Raised in Tauranga, Aotearoa New Zealand, guitarist and composer Ryan Brake weaves intricate, evocative jazz that reflects his deep connection to his homeland and its vibrant musical heritage.
A Doctor of Musical Arts graduate from Victoria University of Wellington, Ryan is a trustee of the New Zealand Jazz Foundation and champions educational initiatives that nurture jazz talent nationwide.
His work spans from large-scale works to intimate solo compositions, collaborating with world-class musicians including Alex Sipiagin, Dick Oatts, John Riley, and John Escreet.
